How many times have you had a bra digging into your sides, or the fit was off? Having versatile activewear that moves with you is one of the most important elements when choosing pieces you can rely on. Whether you are doing low or high impact activities, every piece should be comfortable, not too snug, and flexible enough to wear all day. The first place to start? Measurements - The right bra size can keep things together without restraint and have you feeling like you can conquer the world.
Why is it so difficult to get the right bra size? This is one of the most difficult areas to get right because bodies are uniquely shaped - Here are are standard tips to help you figure it out.
Here at Handful Activewear, we like to keep things simple - if you don't have a measuring tape on hand, our general rule of thumb is that your bra size matches with your shirt size.
If you do have a measuring tape handy or just want to know your specific measurements, below are the areas we recommend checking
Using a standard tape measure, the area around the ribcage is the first spot you would want to measure - It’s so simple, you can do it yourself. First, you’re going to measure the band size by measuring the area under your bust - the measuring tape should fit around the ribcage, form-fitting but not too tight. You’re going to use whole inches when calculating this number to give you an accurate range.
After you've figured out the ribcage, use the measuring tape to measure your bustline from the fullest part of your bust. Note the measurement in whole inches.
Once you have these numbers, match your whole inch measurements to the chart for the correct size.
|Bust||32 - 33.5||34.5 - 36||36.5 - 38||39 - 41||42 - 44.5|
|Ribcage||27.5 - 28.5||29 - 31||32 - 34||35 - 37||38 - 40|
