Nothing screams summer like Sangria, but did you know it’s loaded with sugar? Impress your guests with a refreshing lighter take on Sangria, created by celebrity chef and certified nutritionist, Ariane Resnick. Her “Sangria Sunshine” is brimming with antioxidants thanks to an extra dose of (boozy) fruit in each serving! Use your favorite seasonal fruit and style of wine-- berries in red wine, stone fruit in white, etc. The recipe in Ariane’s new book, The Thinking Girl’s Guide To Drinking, uses year round available fruit like apples and oranges along with a fat-washed bourbon (but you can use any you like), which is super festive and also perfect for a holiday BBQ (hey, it's year round what can we say?).
- 3 ounces red wine
- 2 ounces fresh orange juice
- 1.5 ounces cocoa-butter-washed bourbon
- ½ ounces fresh lemon juice
- ¼ ounces vanilla syrup (simple syrup with touch of vanilla extract added)
- 6 raspberries
- 3 apple slices
- 2 orange slices
